Introduction

Without light, even if nothing is wrong with our eyes, we will not be able to see.  Light and darkness do not coexist; this holds true for both the spiritual and physical realms.  As Christians, we need to walk daily in the light of the Lord.  Without His light, we will not understand God’s plans and purpose for our lives.  When we walk in the light of our own understanding and/or those of our friends and family, we are bound to falter and stumble.  One of the significant ways we get the light of the Lord is through the Holy Scriptures.  No wonder the Bible says that the entrance of His Word gives light.  The Holy Spirit helps us understand, interpret and put into action the Word of God.  The Lord also speaks to us- when we gather together in His Name- through sermons, hymns, fellowship, Holy Communion and Worship.  As we walk in the light of Christ, may God make perfect His plans and purpose for our lives in Jesus name.  Amen.

Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness and put on the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to us in great humility, that on the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen.
